hi, could a recent addition of a finger coral be causing my pussy coral and yellow toadstall to look poorly? the pussy is getting brown jelly on some of its branches.i know the fingers can sent out alot of toxins to fight other corals.

cheers

yes and no ben ..check the finger corals rock isnt moving a little in the flow i have know this to cause coral wars and the little movment of its rock can send corals in to a toxin leatchin frenzy ...if this dont work try adding some poly filter and carbon to help absorb the accsess toxins...hope this helps mate.....D

I think if your going for a mixed hard and soft tank you should always run carbon ,I do not like polyfilter as i think it suckes to much out of a tank .
They say dont run carbon more than 4 to 5 days a month, i think if you place it in the main flow then maybe yes thats true ,but i think if its run where not all the flow goes through it you can run all the time .
Carbon will help with toxic war in a system so its a good idea to run carbon
We know that some corals do have toxic wars with other corals so its a good idea to give these corals more space .
