Ok I have plucked up the courage to have a go at drilling my own tank!!!! Any views on where the best place is to do this (apart from in the glass!!! :) )

My current tank is drilled in the back corner, but people have different views on which is the best location. Do people think its best in the base or top corner or middle? Let me know your views please.

Tank size is 48"x24"x24".

Hi paulie,

You can do it in the garage, in the garden or even in the lounge!!!

But as for where to put the actual hole I would steer away from the base because if you get a leak you have the potential to empty the tank onto the lounge floor and then who would be "Mr Popular"???

I have got mine in the middle at the back but that is because I have a Wavebox otherwise it would be in the corner either at the back or on the side depending on where the pipework needs to run.

Remember not to position it to high, use the wier to set the water level in the tank.

Cheers

Kev
Tankless at the moment :-(

Hopefully not long to wait

Thanks Kev, what do you call not to high? How far under the stress bars is yours drilled?

Anyway wasnt it you can do it in the kitchen you can do it in the hall? Or are you too young to remember that song???? :)

Definately to young for that one :P

Due to other restrictions mine are about 12 inches below the bars!!! :P but a more normal position would be with a centre about 3 inches below the bars.

I'm sure others will but in if theirs are different :)
