I have several monit digitata's, and over the last couple of days they've stopped poylping. It started with an orange one, but now a couple of others have stopped as well. The effect spreads across the coral, ie my silvery/blue is still polyping at the ends of the arms but not towards the centre.
There are a number of frags of the orange and 9 out of 10 of them have stopped as well. They are all in the same part of the tank.
Plating monti's seem fine as does one other large monti digi at the other end.
I haven't moved them, changed the lighting or flow and all other sps are polyping nicely.
I can safely say that there are NO nudi's and I have seen nothing nipping them, they are also all well out of reach from anything potentially stingy.
There have been no temperature or ph swings I'm aware of. My dkh had risen from high 8's to 10.4 over the last 10 days or so but this evening has fallen to 10.2. I have been having fun with my ca reator whereby the c02 was stopping, I suspect this is why the dkh has dropped off a bit.
Mag 1350
CA 410
Alk 10.2dkh
Salinty 35ppt
pH 8.1-8.2
Temp 26.0 - 26.6
I dose 5ml each of Tropic Marin elements K & A daily into a 750 litre system, I'm pretty sure this includes pottasium. I also add half tsp of bio-strontium every other day.
The last water change was 10 days ago, sorry, tho I have just done another, 10%.
So far, there is no die-back, but I'm keeping a careful eye on them.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,
Over the last 10 days my 3 blue digitata's have also stopped polyping. My water quality has not changed, in fact it the best its ever been.I also add the right amount of A & K daily.Im running 2x 400w, so for a week i ran 2x250w, it did not make any differance. I would also appreciate some suggestions.
Steve.

Hmmm, maybe it's a seasonal thing, doubt it tho. After reading a bit on UR, it seems we are not alone with our Monti problems!
I'm going to see about getting a pottasium test kit and will get my alkalinity double checked, tho it is a pretty new kit and not one from the 'dodgy batch'.
