Quite a simply question on the outside but have you ever sat back and thought why you keep
such stunningly intense colourful corals.
Only a few years ago these were nigh on impossible to keep for long periods in home aquariums
Now with advances within the hobby they are much more assibal to us all.
So what are your reasons for keeping these wonderful corals in your front room - Be it the challenge ,the advancement you have achieved from keeping softies.
Please post up reasons why .. and dont bloody say coz yer minted and have spare cash lol

good question!! i ask myself this at least a few times a week..... but for me, you can't beat the look of a nice reef in your living room,i would far rather have a tank to look at it than the t.v and imo the best looking reef tanks are without doubt the well constructed sps tanks, they look like a proper reef...colours play a big part and the challenge also, and for me if i hadn't of settled down and had kids i would have been a dive instructor in the tropics somewhere,so this is the next best thing i suppose.

I like lps but spend more time looking at the sps esp the acros .I have asked myself why ? could be the shapes ,colours the changes in shape or colour or the fact that sps like good flow so the tank always looks ful of life and energy something acros do well in .When i think about it i would say its the movement and energy of an sps tank that is always good to watch ...

I would say for me i love all corals. But i am in the SPS route at the moment because you can get the same coral to grow different colours and shapes even though its the same animal. I am real in to the challenge with the chemistry. Also i seem to put all these magic powders in and see the results of them very quickly so i doesn't seem like I'm waisting money. I also feel like a running a real Eco system (when its all going good ha ha). Last of all SPS are cool
Life is to short for frags
