does anyone here have a top to bottom weir (pipes through the base) , that has a comb on the top and bottom , so water is taken from the top and bottom? is it worth it?

obvioulsy it will be a glass weir right to the base and water tight. the comb will be in a false , acrylic surround.

cheers
ben

I have been thinking of doing this in my new tank but it will be difficult to keep the lower comb clean as this will be behind LR

my oldman has the exact weir you mention it was the biggest pain in the rear end ever i cut the bugger out a few weeks back and put a aquamedic comb on instead , it allows much more water through over flow and easy to remove and clean if nesercery, also the old one got blocked very quick

yeh but i want a full hight blue acrylic weir to hide the pipes in the glass weir behind. the slots at the bottom will be below the eggcrate so this should help keep it clearer. if it does get blocked it will just overflow at the top like normal
