Im pretty sure they cant but as title says... Can they?
Im thinking Trachy, Cynarina.. Things like that. Do they only reproduce sexually in the wild?
Im just wondering if the polyp would rpair from being damaged, or if it could be forced to seperate like bubbles and wall structure hammers and the like can be.
Cheers
Mark
P.S dont worry im not having a go at it or anything, just a wonder if anyone has ever tried really.

I have dremmelled acan's, but would be hesitant on a trachy.. how do you split the polyp ensureing each part has a portion of the mouth then?
Wayne, do you have a link to the vid? Not seen that one.

I cant belive what he did to the scolly!!

Im abit surprised with the 'fleshy' ones like scolly, trachy and Bourman also said he did the same method to an elegance!!
Dont think i would dare try, but good to see it being done. Maybe i will have ago one day.

The first thing to do is to force the LPS to split its mouth and basically become two LPS's. To do this, you place a tight elastic band around the LPS, over the mouth. In a few days, the mouth will have split and a line will appear under the band, where the coral has seperated. This is the place to frag it.
By using this method, you rarely if ever lose the frags and they recover extremely fast. Its a great way of making Torch corals to branch out as well.
