Whilst it is widely believed that the Lumenarcs are the best reflectors for our lights, there is no way my wife would let me have them hanging from the ceiling, so I set about making a black acrylic housing for them.

Using two Lumenarc Mini reflectors, the size of the pendant will be 1200mm x 500mm

I ordered all the pieces pre cut from a non sponsor online.

5mm black acrylic and 20mm square clear block section.

First off I glued 2 30mm strengthening sections to each side

Followed by the 2 end panels

Next I glued a 50mm wide strip across each end which keeps everything square. Alongside this the 20mm square sections were glued in place and a further 2 fitted equally spaced along the length.

Using 2 pieces of the 20mm square section glued together this was fitted under the other square sections and will be used to fix the reflectors and the hanging wires.

Finally I fitted three 50mm strips across the bottom, I may use these for mounting Led's

Yeah I think theres enough room for a T5 each side, I'm hoping I won't need fans with the top being open

It was fairly easy, just like a big airfix kit.

I am still going to hang it from the ceiling or I may look for some wall brackets.

Well done Dave.

I'm certain to go with black acrylic but was pondering about using blue acrylic.

Yeah, leaning more towards the black again as the Samsung LCD tv that I like is black. <_<

How much were you charged in total from that supplier?

Did the adhesive come from them as well?

Si, It's not that difficult, all the pieces were ordered cut to size then you just glue them together

Hi Mark,
http://www.plasticonline.co.uk Its best to ring and speak to Andrew, very helpful guy, and yes everything cut to size.

only thing I would have changed would be where i glued two 20mm square sections to make 40 x 20. I think i could have ordered it this size as the 20 x 20 looks like it was cut from a 20mm thick sheet.
