Peter,

Ignore the colour, look at the growth and form of the coral, the blue is more purple and the coral is small, I got this on my last order from Jasons:

Do you think this might be the same (imagine more growth and once it settles it will get better colour)..... ? If it's what you're after you can have a frag off it.

Looking at the coral I think it's very close if not the same imho.

Well it's in QT at the moment, it's had two dips already and has at least 10 more dips to go before I can add it to the main system (5 more weeks min in qt). Once it settles and starts to grow and develop better colours I'll post some pictures (remind me to do so though) and if you want a frag it will be £75* to you sir! :D :o

(*Joking, obviously......)

This is a good queston .Has anybody got a pic of a red acro under say 10k lights they can post up ?.Reason for asking is we have had hundreds of acros of many types over the years and i still cant say to date wow look a true red acro .Its true to say that some of the acros we have had in may look red under the right k lights but to me its not red untill it looks red under 10k .That said does red show as red on a acro under lights that are lower then say 12 or 14k ?.

i am not sure you would actually get a true red acro due to the placement and where they grow. But i would have thought the red pigment would have been a benefit for deeper water species. (although i am probably talking rubbish)

This Millepora (got one exactley the same in my tank) and the red/maroon staghorn was the closest I saw to a red acro when I was diving in Indonesia last year. The Staghorn thicket went from about 6 metres down to 12 metres, and the millepora colony was about 10 metres down. I saw some awesome blues, blue and yellow bottlebrush, different greens, bright yellows, silvers, bright orange and blue encrusting monti's. But no Ferrari red sps, only LPS and softys.

They all looked pink to me. Red in my books is a ferrari red or blood red, not pink or browny pinks or brick red (pink).
