This has got to be the best tank I have seen! And running 250 watters too.

The size of that Valida!

I'd agree. But 400w are better imho.
When I changed from 250w to 400w I noticed much better colours in my sps, many other reefers say the same. In fact, I don't know one person who has not noticed an improvement in colour, after increasing their light output.
Ross how many watts does your light unit use, when the halides are on with the T5s? Ever thought about changing these for a pair of 400w lumenarcs with electronic ballasts?
Do your lights have magnetic or electronic ballasts?

Tony

yeah,he must have top top water quality and stability.
dont know how much it actually uses but its 2 x 250 watt plus 216 watt of T5. Not sure what kind of ballasts they are? It's Guiseman Infinity. Would 2x 400 watt electronics use less than 2x 250 magnetics?
I wont change though,I am really happy with the lighting. I have 2 Acros and 2 Stylos growing an coloured really nicely in the middle just under T5's, no halides! They are up high though, and they must get a little bit of light from the halides still. I thought I would try as abit of an experiment and have been well pleased with the growth and colour, the middle of the tank gets most of the flow, where two tunzes meet, creating lost of random flow, which they seem to love,I think this is making them grow so fast.
