Does anyone run 20,000k lamps over their reef? If so how blue is their tank to say 10,000k halides?
Si.

Hi Simon

I am running XM20k lights at the moment. They did seem quite blue to start with after switching from 10k. I have just bought a narva blue tube as I have ordered some 6500k lamps and the 20k are nowhere near as blue as the narva tube.

when i switched to 400w. I had 20k, then i went down to 12k but now back with 10k.
I think its a waste of wattage, and you loose the par which you want for the corals, if you like the blue, imo its better to add blue tube to run with the halide.
