Just wondering how many hours does everybody run halides for and how much they actually need
I run mine for 12 hours which according to alot on RC is way too much and they say to run for 6 and that is plenty.

So what lighting period does everybody use with SPS, Im going to cut back i think which will help with leccy and heat.

I think it depends on Wattage and what K ratting you have .On a 10k i think 8 hours will do fine .
I'm going to run mine for 10 hours when the system goes in and I'm going to run 2x 400w 6500k bulbs

mine are run for 10hours. i have read on r/c a while back that people were trying to reduce it to as much as 4 hours. im not sure how they got on but it seemed a bit of a "competition" to me though

Run mine for 8 hours, seems an average length of time.
Any longer and I'd be having to use the chiller again!

I am running my 2 400 watt 6500k lights for 6 hours, but I will probably increase it by another hour.

i run x1 400w 10k for 10 hours a day my tanks in the old loft of the house so even if i ran the light for three hours a day in the summer i'd still need a chiller, do people run the lights for that extra couple of hours to squeeze a bit more growth out of there sps per day??
