We have 2 'inherited crabs' from living rock we have bought recently, and would like some info on them, if possible.

They seem to be hairy, light brown and white legs, with quite large pincers. They are also quite 'spider looking'. We can never seem to get a picture of them, as they're always hiding in the rock.

Has anyone got any ideas of what they could be? Or how can we tempt them out of the rock to get a photo of them?

you could try a bottle trap at night to see if you can catch them.

cut the bottle at the shoulder and invert into the body. then add a bit of food and rest it against the rocks.

Sounds like the xanthid not always a good guy so take it out and kill it good and proper
