Can you have to much light?

I am in the process of changing my tank around and i was reading a few things on the web about coral saturation points and what i am asking is would we gain anything from having lots of light. For instance the difference in light loss between 10k and 14k can be up to 35% at a depth of 2inch under water. If i were to run 6.5K am i going to get a better growth rate and colour or growth from running these. I know they look yellow but i am planning to run 2x 80w narva blues maybe x4. But would it be over kill and exceed corals saturation. Where as running 10k would i expect to see the same growth rate. Will i be hitting the coral saturation point and be more pleasing to the eye? As from my reading corals the saturation point rarely seems to exceed 350 µmol·m˛·sec. I have 3x 400w lumenarc and the tank depth is 24inch deep an ideas?
Life is to short for frags
