can anyone id the coral in the pics, if it helps it can deflate totally flat to the rock and when fully extented it prob inflates above the rock by 3 inches?
it lost a head the other week when i didnt notice a rock had fallen on it and it just looked to be normal rock and not a skeleton (which is weird) but wasnt a good angle to view the damage so could be wrong, the damage hase been totally repaired though.
the coral is prob about 6x4 size with heads about 1.5 diameter.

Can you give it a bit of a prod and get it to retract fully so the underlying skelletal shape is a bit more discernable, that way it will be easyer (but not 100%) to ID.

Simon.

have been prodding away at it and it doesnt want to show me its skeleton and it doesnt retract it just flattens itself to the rock.
also the coral seems to be one big peice as i cant seperate any of the heads to look in between them.
hope this helps

Could be an acan ,i know the tentacles seem irregular in size unlike the acans usually are but like Rory has pointed out the polyps are on one bolder rock rather than having stems just like the acan is .

Now its not like any Favia i have ever seen as the heads are much more inflated ,I will go out on a limb and say Acan

bit of a bump but after all this time it looks to be attaching to the rock next to it.
been using the korrallin zucht lps amino acids this past week and a half.
did feeding mode not help anyone as i know its not the best picture?, but if you compare the feeding pic to the day pics you will notice the difference in height and still in feeding mode it is still not at its lowest point.

will get pics of new growth when light permits.

Will do some digging in coral books over the next few days ,i would like to say acan but the tentacles look too thick and what about the long ones ,not seen this on acans before .
