First up... Thanks again for the SPS frags Deany, much appreciated and thanks for recommending this forum, seems a friendly enough group. Will post some more pics on here later today of the frag positioning.

Yeah Ben you've seen it around, I get to a few forums and like to participate. Real thirsty for knowledge so thats why I'm a journeyman.
I'll post a full tank rundown soon, as it's Christmas Eve and I'm pretty much still dashing around.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, hopefully I can contribute something to the forum although I'm a relative newbie to the saltie side.

I've been trying to install a v2 Skim 400 this morning (sump hang-on)

Posted Image

I found that I was a little short on room. So rather than mod all the plumbing etc I've decided to build a completely new sump.
A fellow member (Deany) as kindly given me some SPS frags to try and I have placed them in my tank, mostly high up to see how they go.

Just a wee bit concerned that the polyps havn't come out on the 3 pronged one (acro is it) at the back top right. Do you think its fine yet or move it.

Hi,
Have you modded the skimmer in any way or are you running it with the standard kit.
Thanks for your comment

I just run it with the pump it was supplied with & it works really well. I've heard other people upgrade the pump to something like an Eheim though. I clean the cup every 3 days & it takes out loads of waste. Also I clean the venturi & pump impellor every month. It should do a good job for you!

Many Thanks for that Bud!
I dont really want to mod the thing yet just enquiring to see what can be done and its advantages.

Meanwhile I've taken a little vid today of the tank, the Sun Coral's not out, but hey it gives you a little more visualisation of my tank.

FINISHED IT!
Below is my newly configured Sump, which was performed inorder to accomodate a recently aquired V2 Skim 400 (Protein Skimmer) which needed to be installed in the cabinet beneath the tank. The Sump itself measures only 10"x10"x14.5" and has three small compartments.

Very small sump. The flow will be from right to left, as you look at the pic.
Will it work, I bloody hope so. :shock7:
