My lamps are just over 12 months old,im looking to replace them. I have been pleased with the BLV 14 K's (250 watt DE in a guisseman infinity unit). But would like a change, brighter light and extra growth would be good. I thought about BLV 10 K's but have heard the PAR is virtually the same between 10K and 14K? Also spoke to Rob at marine lighting and he said that his marine lux 10K and 14K were pritty much the same PAR. I dont really know what to go for? I have heard the Radiums dont fire very well with a magnetic ballast, which is what I have I think. I have heard the XM's are great, but are they really worth they extra 20 odd quid a lamp?
Can anyone help me make a decision please....

I've used XM 10k's in the past and really liked them, like you say they are expensive.
Ages ago i asked about replacing them on UR, i can't remember which Simon replied but i think it was Mr Garrett anyway he told me they had a lot more life than i expected so the extra money could be well justified! ( hopefully he will comment )
