Hi all

My kh is around 8, I want to raise it up to about 10, how many ml of Bi-carb would I be able to add over the period of 24 hrs without causing problems?

Hi Ben
Someone mentioned that it is better to have a kh of around 10 for sps corals.

i would wait for some of the more experianced to see what they say. im sure one or 2 would be happy to keep it at 8 if i remember right

Imo 8dkh is spot on! I would check that it stays within 8 and 9 throughout the day.Test early in the morning,as early as possible,then through the day and just before lights out.This will give you the big picture of weather things are stable.

Whatever you keep it at, stability is more important than any particular value, within reason. If there is one thing that going to upset an acro and bring on a case of rtn, then it's a dkh thats up and down like the preverbial drawers in a house of disrepute.

I like to run mine higher around 10 for me as it helps a lot more in keeping your chemistry more stable. There is more available bi-carbonate to stabilize the system. Helps a little with the PH but like mentioned stability is the key. I would guess that you could raise it 0.5 per day if you wanted to play it slow.
