This may be a stupid question! Why mirrors aren't used for reflectors?

Just wondering why reflectors can't or rather aren't constructed using some sort of mirror rather than aluminum. I know theres obviously a weight issue and fragile issue however Im sure this could be overcome.

Mirrors are not as good because the reflective surface is behind the glass. This means that the light has to pass through the glass twice to be reflected and this induces losses and changes the spectrum as well.
