hello everyone i hope you enjoy reading my progress thread (mod if this isnt in the right are please move)

so how i got to where i am is i got myself a red sea max loved it but didnt really put much time on and the time came to move.

the gf 'you cant take that massive ugly fish tank to the house there just isnt the space'
Me' (after picking up the pieces of my broken heart of the floor) oh come on how about i get a smaller tank .
the gf' ok but i get to buy a new radley bag (expensive handbag)
me (after now picking my jaw off the floor) DEAL

sooo i set about breaking down the tank and storing the LR i made the decision that because i was worried about contamination i would cut up a water jerry can (woooohho some pics)

please note honey the dog tasting the container for contaminates

And here it is all nicly settled

so after lots of cleaning i noticed that i had a skimmer v2 120 nice little skimmer and 2 pumps one which went to the main outlet and another which led to a pipe with a spray bar VERY NICE

I decided i wanted an open top so i purchased a clip on halide

heres one showing tank with halide and rock in

here is my first attempt at aquascaping which ends in tears becasue i later have a rock collapse
you can see the spray at the back

I put the sand in and was very happy with it all but noticed that the nozzle that came with tank created such a powerfull flow that it was blowing away the sand at the front

so i went to my LFS and got myslef a little hydor flow thingy here you go

it turns creating lots of varied flow ( i had to buy a new maxi jet 1200 beause the other one was broken)

now one last pic before i start another
here is how the tank looked before i added fish i was very proud of it although mental note must get a decent camera

first thing first is for all those that have nanos get yourself a nimble nano it is tiny and does a great job you can really scrub and it just doesnt kick up sand like other magnetic scrubbers so the first pic is a numble nano with my thumb for a size guide

next up is my small collection of zoas that will expand asap with my new fish a green chromis a very under estimated fish in my eyes there beutiful anyway becasue his colours are like pearlescent we called him pimp so here is pimp with my corals

Great little tank mate, I still find it amazing how nanos are kept due to the size and fluctuations in parameters, It certainly shows how determined some reefers can be for that slice of reef we all try to achieve , Nice One :D
