Well the old 6x2.5x2.5 has been dismantled so that the missus can have the space that the tank took up - however in return i got the cuboard behind the dining room as par of the deal, so the tank will be a sort of hole in the wall jobby as half the tank will protrude out into the dining room. The new slightly smaller tank a 5x3x2 built again by Ac Aquatics to my spec's will have a diagonal corner weir and eurobraced as i didn't want any crossbracing this time around as with the width of this tank i wanted it to be open as posible for access. Will be using all of my kit from the old system as total volume will be approximatly the same. Sold alot of my coral stock to local reefer's as i just didnt have the room to keep it. Well here's where i've got to so far:-

Posted Image
Stacked system - which has been up and running now for about 6 weeks, has some of my stock that i kept and a few fish. The top tank will eventually be turned into a cryptic tank, middle frag tank and the bottom will be for water changes(missus is abit tired of me lugging buckets through the house) - will just have to rejig the current plumbing to do this.

Posted Image
Wall out and plastered to take the new tank.

will update as i go along.

Looks great, nothing as exciting as preparing for a new tank to arrive, sounds like great dimensions for aquascaping too
I suggest a change of plan... Let the wookie win

Well i've been pretty busy over the weekend so here's some more progress pic's

Posted Image

Sump done and water tested - rejigged the baffles from original sump, the skimmer will go in the first compartment, LR in the second(as i want uto minimize the quantity in display, will also have a nano stream in here to aid circulation around the rock), third is room for a reactor and finally return section.

Posted Image

Base down and ply on wall and all painted up.

Posted Image

Hole drilled through wall and extractor c/w humidistat installed.

Well it will take a bit of filling up, as i got rid of alot of my stock and have lost a few with the shut down of the old system. So i will need plenty of acro's in the future :D :D

Another update, been hanging lights and doing all of the electric's as well as starting to decorate the dining room.

Posted Image

T5's hung - these are 2 x ATI units giving me 10x 80W tubes, i've been running all t5's for the past 6 months on the old tank and i likey!

Posted Image

T5's on to give them a trial run - not sure if its a bit blue for me, as i've changed the bulb configuration, will give it a go and see - if not ill rejig the configuration with less blue's.

Posted Image

Pic of under the stand, been gradually putting the kit in place- skimmer, PO4 reactor, dosing pumps etc, and i've spent most of the weekend wiring things up as well as a bit of decoration. The tank should hopefully be here within the next week.

Well the new tank arrived yesterday night, and after a bit of lifting, pushingand pulling, swearing, more lifting and more swearing we finally managed to get it off the van, through the house and onto the stand. I will post up some picks later on of the tank in place as never got any of the tank move as our hands were a bit full at the time.

Very nice. You wont reget those lighting units! I use a six tube power module and have tried alsorts of different tubes and have settled on three ati blue plus, one ati actinic and two aqua-blue specials.Gives a perfect mix of colour for my taste.
Keep the updates coming!
