I think everyone should try and visit before they dissapear, even without the reefs it's still a stunning place to have a holiday.
Unfortunately I got a mild ear infection after 2 days so was unable to do any diving :D but the snorkelling is still fab :D

"Kuredu", although a luxury place to stay, the house reef is poor it was devastated by "El Nino" in 1998 and just isn't showing signs of recovering, but a 30min boat ride across to "komandoo" island which is surrounded by a shallow reef is stunning.

I'm staying at Meedhupparu, so hopefully the reef will be in a bit better condition there!

I went to Thulhagiri 4 weeks after the tsunami, most of the reef was destroyed but I was blown away by the amount of fish, the diversity and colours of them.

It make you realise that you never really see a healthy captive fish. I was blown away by the colours of the Power blue tangs and the regal and emperor angels
I suggest a change of plan... Let the wookie win

Check out www.Reefpark.net if you have a minute
