Had a chat with Jason the other day about my branching hammer. Two of the heads on one branch died off. They didn't go brown or jellylike the mouth just gapped and folded back until all the flesh came off. the head was on the bottom of the sytem for a couple of days still looking fine, just deflated. THe rest of the colony is fine.
Jason suggested that there is a line of thought that this could be a way for the colony to thin out the head and allow for growth. There were lots of 'baby' heads on the branch that are now growing really well getting lots of light. Has anyone else heard of this or experianced it?
Cheers

I've had this problem before.
Took Jason's advice and chopped it up, now it's growing like mad so it's a plus thing. The right hand side of my tank now has Euphyllia's all over the place.

I've had a torch do this before, I broke off the head and shortly after it went into a growing frenzy
