Hi All,

Still green in this section of the fishkeeping hobby so still asking loads of questions. This question is about.......Lighting.....Funny that!

The tank I am looking at getting is the Red Sea Max 130D and the lighting spec is as follows:-

  • 2x 55w 50/50 10,000k and Actinic T5 power compact lamps
  • 2x Blue LED Moonlights
  • Electronic Ballast
  • High Polished Textured Aluminium Reflector
  • Fan Cooled Hood
  • High Transparency Polished Lens

It states that the lighting is optimal to ensure maximum success!. I know this is sales speak but, really, can both SPS and LPS be kept under this lighting as Halides is not an option for me.

Thanks

Pete

that would mean changing the ballasts in the lid, but that means longer bulbs which may not fit anyway,

or adding more bulbs. but i havnt seen the unit so not sure how easy that would be. its been done on a few of the other nanos

Does it need 1 white and 1 blue?

Could I change the blue to white making it 110w and then substitute the lack of blue with a strip of blue LED's?

Does 2x 55w not make 110w??

Apologies for my ignorance!
