Spinach Feeding?

Are their any benefits in feeding frozen spinach to Angels and Tangs, I seem to remember its not good for them long term is this correct.

I thought land based vegetation was hard for them to digest. I think you have to boil it to break the fibre down but once you've done that not sure of the nutritional value.

I heard that you freeze it first, and then when it is defrosted this breaks the fibre's down so it is easier to digest.
