i went but it wasnt worth the cost in the end to travel up should have just come down to you 2 and annoyed you both instead lol

the talks were good epecially the one from simon i was able to listen to due to the time i would have got back with the travelers comming down yesterday altho the tmc one was a bit long winded

TBH Karl its takes a lot of organizing to put together a talk like that and myself will tip me hat to them all for what i have been told was a good day out with some good talkers.

All talks unless your 100% into the hobby there chatting about will have areas that wont keep you glued and this is any hobby whether it be dominoes to voyeurism.

Filling a spot as a talker with a good few guys you don't know staring at you cant be easy so hats off to them

i know what you mean

it cost me close to £200 to go including buying a few bit i needed if i was down here would have spent under £100

other than that the staff were good and the owner was very helpfull but a bit over worked lol

Well, its about more than just value for money I think. Its an opportunity to see a different premises, meet new people and soak up the atmosphere. The talks themselves have a value all of their own and I have listened to a few of Simon's presentations, which Ive always found interesting. I cant speak for TMC as ive never heard them speak, but I would imagine that a company of its size would put together a very polished presentation.

I would have gone myself but it was just that bit to far.

Agree, when meeting other hobbyists or as in my case new customers, you will normally end up learning something new about reef keeping.I am happy to admit that most of what i have learned about coral care and reef tanks over the years has been from what customers have discovered.Add to this a talker or two on an open day and you should always come away having discovered something new.
