hi guys
i have a deltec mc500, and i read you may have to leave it running for 2-14 days before it beds in properly.
the tank is an upgrade from a 24gl to 60gl, using the original water/live rock an adding new as well to top up.
the original tank is 6 months old but i transfered to the new tank 2 weeks ago which was when i tried the skimmer.

mines been in for 2 weeks now and i left it running for about 4-5 days but i got annoyed with the amount of fine bubbles it was pumping through to the display area, so i switched it off.
now when i switched it back on , i tried to leave it running but the bubbles are coming out through the collecting cup so fast i had to continuously empty it every few minutes, so i have switched it off again.

any tips as to why i am getting these problems? i cant understand because its not even a new tank, and i have the weir all the way down so as to reduce the water level in the main chamber and also got the collection cup as high as i can get it, and also the air valve on full because if i turn it down the fine air bubbles just all go through to the display area. very annoying. B)

any help much appreciated :)

Not familiar with that model of Deltec, but have you dosed anything at all into your tank water recently?, and where is your skimmer positioned in your sump or is it on the main display tank?

its an in-tank model and i have it positioned in the corner near the intake to an external canister and the outlet of the canister is at the other end of the tank.

as regards additives, no i haven`t added anything other than i have left some of the ceramic balls in the canister and the rest is live rock rubble.
