some bendy mdf, arched over the lights, with half circle end caps can make a simple canopy.

My old tank....

The hood had 2x400W and 1x250W halide, no chiller, two fans either end pulling the air thru the hood. Inside I had a single flat sheet reflector, not lumenarcs. The front 'slope' section was on a piano hinge and opened upwards. The whole affair could be lifted off but took a bit of effort.

My new tank with 3x400W, this was an idea of what I'd intended to do with it...

... but this is as far as I've got...

The lumenarcs are on an aluminium frame which is hinged on the wall so that I can lift it up for access. It also slides off the hinges and the wiring unplugs so that it can be completely removed in a few seconds. My final thoughts on concealing the lumenarcs is to get some perforated aluminium sheet and cover along the front and partly over the tops of them, leaving the rear half open for cooling.

I have just 3 sides to my hood, front, left and right.

Fans on the back push air through between the lights and the water and having an open back means it can just be slide forwards to remove
I suggest a change of plan... Let the wookie win
