Hi guys, just wondering if you could put a lower wattage T5 tube (54w) in a 80w T5 ballast

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Yes you can, but you don't want to. The ballast will allow the lamp to draw 80watts of power causing it to burn brighter than intended to leading to a shorter lifespan.

You can get a 54w ballast dirt cheap off ebay and fit your own leads.
