as above, i'm looking into upgrading my light on my betta lifespace 680, from a 150w + t5 actinincs aquamedic unit...to this
http://www.fastlight.co.uk/acatalog/Marine...enarc_Kits.html (i was looking at the 10000k model)
what do you guys think?
would anyone have any preference to the mini luminarc? or the standard one?

hi Luke
depends if your planning a larger tank soon, if not the mini would look great over your betta
if yes go for the biggun !!
as you seem to be swaying towards the twiggs maybe do a dimmable 400

i had considered it, but i didn't know whether you could get dimmable halides, i'm guessing a dimmable 400 with ballast and reflector is going to be some serious pennies?
i was hoping i could get away with a 10k 250 though
ahh i want to order it now! just bought myself a 10k bulb for my 150 though

would advise the reeflux lamp over the marine lux lamp, will give much better coral colouration.

that was the idea, i'd use the marine lux for 6 months or so, get some use out of it obviously, then change to the reeflux
looks like i'll get the normal one as i will be upgrading in the future

ahh! what bulb is it? (make and K rating?) and is it elec ballast?
what sort of money are you looking for lindsay? i did try and ring jas today inquiring about this! but he was busy every time i tried, so if you could speak to him and get back to me with a price (inc posting), and perhaps you could send it down with my frags in the new year?
it would be good to ring jas to be honest, is it ok to ring him tomorrow?
thanks linds
