Hi Guys, as per the title really.

After the loss of my Moorish idol, I'm wondering what would be a nice centrepiece fish for my tank, which is a 5X2X2 sps reef. Needless to say, it needs to be reef safe, including shrimps and crabs. I'm after something a bit showy and even unusual to grace my tank as a sort of conversation piece.

Anyone care to offer up any suggestions?

Tony.

I know where there is a very nice Achilles tang but I dont think its for sale. Its been in stock for a while now, so it should be hardy.

Regal angel,if you can find a good one.Super male flame wrasse,if you can find a good one.Gem tang if youre feeling flush. :)
Infact sod it,take a look at some of the candy on here!
http://www.ezmarines.com/
Just take your time and get something stunning!

If you feel like a gamble then tinkers butterfly fish, declivis butterfly, mitratus butterfly, banks butterfly and many of there relatives are all stunning fish that we can mostly only dream about owning.Im looking for a tinkers, banks or mitratus and if it means i have to remove some corals it may pick at then so be it.Its worth it for the fish!

Also consider some of the large anthias species like square spots. If you can find a terminal male they can be beautiful! :)

i'm looking for something a bit showier. I quite fancy an angel or butterfly, I even thought about a couple of Wimples.

I think ive pretty well settled on an Achilles Tang. It takes away a lot of ifs and buts that goes with Angels, Butterflies and Triggers. I'm also going to take a shot at 1 or two Leopard Wrasses, despite the difficulty of getting them over to prepared foods.

I like a challenge.

Good choice on the leopard wrasses, mine are very active all over the tank and eat all prepared foods, they do like to stir up the sand though
Regal Angel also a good choice, since mine ate my cat its been fine lol
