Had a sump designed around the Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 protein skimmer. The skimmer is inside the sump as I cannot fit it any where else. Problem is that the recommend water level for this skimmer is between 100cm to 150cm but the sump water level is 330cm. What problems will this have on the skimmers performance or can I get away with this depth? I cannot raise the skimmer, as there is no head room.

PS The guy who designed the sump is supposed to be an expert, and he knows the Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 protein skimmer. So I believed he knew what he was doing.

Please any advice would be welcome.

In the past I've run the same skimmer with about 30cm of water, not a problem.
