Hi all, after pondering about the health of my system, battling with hair algae and wanting to get more out of my corals i decided to go down the zeovit route and try getting the colours of my acros to look like the ones you see on some zeovit systems.

so here goes with my system and some chemical levels before and after and also some pics of some changes i've done.
volume - approx 2400 litres
water change - 100 litres weekly
salt used - tropic marin bio actif
photoperiod - blue led's on for 4 hrs,6x 80w 10k and 15k t5's on for 2 hrs,4x 400w 12k reeflux on for 9hrs
zeovit - 5 litres/kgs stones
zeobak dosed initially for 2 weeks at 20 drops a day then 20 drops 3 times a week since
zeostart2 - dosed at 2ml twice a day
zeofood has not been used yet
magnesium complex - 6.5ml daily
calcium plus - 20ml daily
carbon - 3 litres/kgs changed monthly

ph - 8.23 day 8.07 night and after 1 month is now 8.30 day 8.11 night
calcium - 380 ppm and after 1 month is now 310ppm
mag - 1080 ppm and after 1 month is now 1280ppm
alkalinity - 8.6 and after 1 month is now 7.6
nitrate - 10 ppm and after 1 month is now 0ppm
phosphate - 0.03mg/l and after 1 month is now 0.08mg/l
all tests done with new salifert kits except po4 which is a merck high sensitivty kit
as you can see there has been some significant changes in the chemistry especially the phosphate and magnesium which have both risen dramatically however as with the po4 before i started i had loads of hair algae and now is nearly all gone which does'nt make sense based on the po4 levels in the system.as for calcium which has decreased, i am dosing for an 800 gallon system and the corals are growing ridiculously fast which again does'nt make sense based on my dosing and tested levels.
i have noticed that some of my previously brown acros are now starting to lighten and show hints of colour albeit just the metallic sheen on the skin which is accentuated more under actinics, and also have lost 2 acros, 1 of which was a solid blue which i am a bit gutted about as it was flourishing prior to the change.
anyhow here are a few pics of some of my inhabitants along with some drastic equipment changes i've made.
enjoy :D
