Have been having a long think about downgrading for the past week or so. I got laid off before xmas and Rach is only doing temp work so the income is not very reliable at the moment and obviously a tank our size is'nt cheap to keep! There are many other reasons that i wont bore you with but rather than give up we have decided to downsize.
So taking into account the size of our very small cottage and the amount of space the kids toys take up we finally decided on a 47 X 18 X 19.
We considered a cube and other styles but felt this would be better suited as we could keep the majority of our livestock in a tank this size.

Just after picking it up

Ready for the first coat of glack gloss

This is with 2 coats and 1 more to go

I have made a stand and will clad it in the same solid oak as our flooring and what we used on the previous tank.
We will also be going back to T5's but lots!
We are hoping to do the changeover tomorrow so fingers crossed.
More pics to come.
Hope you like so far.

Joey.

Nice looking tank, are you going to drill it for a sump?

I'm assuming that you don't want the 250w ballast now Joey?

Well its been over a month since i have updated this thread. After all the deaths and what not we have been stocking again and also ditched the external filter and gone for a sump again. It is starting to look good again i think and i will take some pick when the kids have gone to bed and when the wife lets me have the computer lol.
