Hi guys,

ive been toying with the idea of constructing a deep water reef. I'm still at the thinking about it stage, so its far from signed and sealed.

I fancy a cube to build it with and have been looking around at various options. Aesthically, the Evasion looks like a nice tank with fairly thick glass and a decent cabinet. there are also some pretty sweet prices floating about for it too.

However, its not a company i'm aware of and wonder if anyone can comment on them. there is no point in developing ideas for it, if its a non starter anyway.

Any comments appreciated.

tony.

Jason has ordered in an Evasion tank for Ben a few years back and the build quality is good.

Ben being Ben ran the tank and changed his plans again so bought a different tank, I believe he changed tanks several times that year.

yeh i did have an evasion. i think it was the 70 model. it was a cube and came with t5 lighting which i took away and hung a halide over it. i also added a sump by altering the cabinet.

nice tanks imo. well made.

How deep do you want to go?

Mine was pretty deep with about 70cm of water. Depth looked good but was a nightmare to clean the calcium based algae as that deep down I couldn't get any force on the scrapper.

Another thing with deep tanks, not sure if it matters somuc now as we use so much flow, but if the tank is deeper than it is wide, gas diffusion can be impaired.

I'm not short, i'm energy efficient. :(

I only want a 2' deep tank, which is about as far as I can reach down. when i say a deep water reef, I mean that I want a deep reef biotope, not a tall tank.
