Help please guys
came back from work friday some of my sps have bleached from the tips only the odd tip not all of them.
a big hystrix colony has bleached.
some if the softies have closed up but other sps ,lps clams etc look fine
cheato etc in sump thriving
did all the water tests yesterday all ok
as in previous post growth has allways been very very slow

any help ???? any thing else i should test for
changed my ro filters, phopshate remover and carbon last weekend
one bulb is 2 months old and the other is 10 mths old

nearly had enough :) help gents if i give up i'll know i,ll regret it
and i dearly want to get back down to jas for more stock , but not untill i sort this

Hi Gray,

Slow growth could point to phosphates and tip burn could be down to alk so i would double check them on different test kits.Also check the obviouse things like salinity and temperature as these are often overlooked.Did you add a large ammount of phosphate remover in one hit as this can also stress corals?

Also check the dates on all of your test kits as some can go way off with age.The salifert alk test being a classic one.

I know you said the bulb s are only a couple of months old but check the glass shield.
I found to my cost last year that one bulb had cracked and I never relised until I had major bleaching. The shield had cracked and was suspended under the shade.

Just a thought
