thanks guys..... :P

I'm catching hell over on the US boards for this (I'll never learn eh!). There seems to be a lot of apathy on the issue over there too. It's a real shame.

the thing that really gets me about this is that in the same thread that told of the tanker crash these people started discussing prices for these fish... and that's on top of the last shipment that was a total loss! :)

why do you have to donate money to sign the petition? I must have done 1000's and never had to pay?

Done.

Some responses doesn't surprise me one bit. They always put business interests ahead of people and the environment. But hey we have a majority of people like that in this country too.

ust a quick update... I haven't had much time to devote to this recently but I've just had an exciting development.

Renowned artist and zoologist Roger Swainston has signed the petition and will be lending further support shortly.

Roger actually observed and documented the ecosystems of Clipperton over many hours underwater during the Jean Louis Etienne expedition of 2004-5.. so I can't think of anyone better to have on-board.

Rogers observations highlight perfectly my own concerns about the pressures facing this location. If anyone had any doubts about whether the petition was worthwhile, please read my blog post at

http://www.ipetition...clipperton/blog

and consider signing up. Members of the Facebook group will be in for a visual treat in the near future too!
