I've got my Deltec APF600 plumbed in, fed under gravity. Problem is I'm getting large bubbles coming down from the weir. Any ideas how to stop this?

I'm considering doing the same with my skimmer as part of reworking my sump. I've read that a restriction in the pipe can cause the bubbles to "bounce back". So, if your bulkhead outlet is say 40mm, step down to 32mm for the feed to the skimmer. I'm not sureif the restriction needs to be in a vertical section of pipe or whether it works just as well in a horizontal plane as well. I've read about this technique in several places, one of them being Si Garrats "Reef Eden" site.

Thanks Chris.
Mine does 'step down' as you say but doesn't stop the bubbles. I'll have a read of Simons site, see what he suggests.

Cheers
