and was wondering how you rate your tunze 9410. Why Im asking is that I am looking for a new skimmer, due to space constraints though I was looking at getting the tunze 9010. Now what I dont understand is that the 9010 is rated at a larger water flow and air flow rate than the 9410. also it is rated at similar tank size but is half the price. Does this mean its half as good?

Hi Bruce - I'll add my twopeneth if I may?

I ran a 9410 upto about a week ago and thought it was a brilliant bit of kit, knocked spots off my Deltec 851. I think the difference with the 9010 and 9410 is that the 9410 uses the latest hydrofoamer pump and coupled together with the fact it is their latest development means its far more efficient than the 9010.

Im not absolutley sure on how the 9010 runs but the 9410 is plug and play, no messing about and also has an anti-foaming system which stops the cup overflowing. With regards to price, I don't think there's much in it really as the latest model is the 9011, but I reckon you could probably pick up a 9010 second hand cheap. I was so impressed I got myself a 9440 so that I could get rid of the 9410 and 851!

HTH. Regards

i had the 9410 off quigs ;) it's been running since saturday. Blown away with the amount of gunk this pulls out compared to my deltec APF600 and so much quieter.
I ran the tunze 9005 in my sumped red sea and can highly recommend them, if they are using the hydrofoamer on the 9010 then it will be a great compact bit of kit.
I DON'T KEEP CLAMS I KEEP WATER !!!
