How do you get your Avatar pic on your profile to be animated, the gif i used is but
static on my profile .

I think you'll find that the avatar picture should be no larger than 90x90, other wise it creates a re-sized version that appears under you name alongside the postings. In other words, you image is the wrong dimensions, so you'll need to find another one.
