I don't think regals can ever be considered safe in a reef tank, when mine went in it picked a few patches of my favias, then seemed to settle down and was eating flake, frozen and nori quite contently, then one day i came home from work and it had ripped my catalaphylia to bits

since then it's been ok, but always pecks at odd bits of lps but not to the extent of destroying them. Don't think i would risk keping any acans though !!
maybe i'll have to hide them from him lol
not so good about you're cat
is yours a red sea/indian ocean variant?
have you had him long?
was he big when 1st put in?
i've heard that best put in as a juvi but i guess there is still that risk that it will
turn into a meaty polyp assasin lol
cheers for the info dave

Pretty sure its a red sea one although its throat is slightly blue so could be a pacific one
Has been in the tank 8 months now
Jas got it in as a juvi and Lindsay got it eating before i took it
I wouldn't be without him now, even if it meant getting rid of all my lps
