As part of my re-sumping work I'm upgrading the return pump. I got the pump a couple of months back and thought it might be worth actually testing it, so I did. I put the pump in the pond sump tank and stuck a three metre length of 40mm pipe vertically on the outlet and turned it on...



I then stuck a further two meters on the end of that, so thats five meters in total, but don't have a video since I had to hold the pipe whilst Michael was in charge of the switch, but it still chucked water out.

So, I'm not expecting any problems on the flow side, just hope the weir and return plumbing copes with it!!

The pump, a tunze 1073.090, basically a re-badged £150 Scicce 9000e.
