I always blast my rock with a baster to keep it nice and clean but I have very little critter life. Thinking of just leaving the rock to see if I get some bugs. Do you think it will work?

you may have more life than you think. have you shone a torch into the rocks at night?

Yep, and they are pretty barren! Really want to get loads of life in their and once things are popping with ife, add a mandarin.

then yeh give your rocks a break from cleaning but just keep an eye on your water quality. you can buy pod culturing kits to help kick things going.
