hi all
having just purchased a schuran jetstream 2 i was wondering how people connect this up to the water supply.i know it asks for the flow to be put under pressure but what sort are we talking about.could it be supplied directly by a feed from say a maxijet mp1200 or would it need to be significantly larger like say an eheim compact 3000/5000.i am assuming the need of pressure is to combat the flow of the eheim 1260 on the reactor and if this is the case surely a pump with a larger flow rate than the supplied 1260 would be adequate?
any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Think i have a pdf on the jst 2,ile have a look to see what they say, should think that as long as the feed to the reactor is strong enough to fill it and reach the max flow rate of the jst 2,which i think is up-to 400ml a min, then it should be strong enough,a t off a return pump should do the job.

Yeah just had a look and they say to tap into the return pump and put a tap to adjust its flow rate, looking at the picture of the reactor i would suspect that the flow of the rec irk pump would not put a great deal of back pressure against the feed because of the way they have piped it in.
ps you dont have a flow chart with you're reactor by any chance?.

sorry it's taken a couple of days to reply been having issues with the computer.as for the flow chart there is performance diagram on the last page but it refers to a jetstream 1.i'm still trying to come up with a hook up solution for the reactor and the only one i can think of is to 'tee' off my skimmer pump which is a newjet 2300.as for tubing what would be better the rigid barrier pipe that the reactor is connected with or air line tubing?

I use the rigid pipe,RO tubing is good but a bit stiffer than the Schuran stuff. Our reactor is fed off a Schuran Jetskim skimmer, works fine. Not run a Jst 2 but if its like the Jst 1 then there will only be a small amount or pressure in the reactor because they are designed to run without a tap on the effluent end so no pressure is put on the reactor.
PS ime yet to see the chart for a jst 2,not sure there is one.
