I have had mine for a couple of years now. Great fish, however it can be aggressive towards my sailfin.

This might sounds obvious, but the key is to get a good one in the first place. So you want one that is eating, nice bright eyes, look for flukes and ws, nice dark colour, not washed out and no pinched belly. If under the mouth is slightly paler that could mean it has just been flaring, they go pale under the mouth while the dorsal fin goes a deeper red.

They need a fair bit of swimming space and also well oxygenated water.

Have a look at the Achilles Tang primer over on RC, lots of info about them on there that would help http://www.reefcentr...d.php?t=1492655

They are stunning fish and my favourite, i would say high flow and open swimming space is essential, i have had mine a month now and it is recovering from its first bout of white spot. I am hoping it does not come back worse. It loves the flow from my return pump and vortech. i think 5' preferably bigger is what is needed to stop them stressing.

You do need to find a good example also, one with rich colours and bright eyes as Matt said. Mine is picking all the time and eats Nori (i make sure i soak this in vits and aminos) as if its going out of fashion, he looks at pellet and flake but has not tried it yet, i think if he had some competition for food it might spur him onto it.

Lovely fish, real character but i have heard a lot of them going belly up. I hope i can get mine to settle properly and establish himself, he is getting fatter which is a good sign
