My goni has a bug on it. I dont know what they are or know how to get rid of them. They are small, a couple of mm, are fairly round, are a pale brown colour with a dark center. They look soft and are very thin. They seem to be on the mouth of the polyps. I think I have them on my leather as well. Any ideas what they are and how to get rid?

Thanks

from the description i'd say flatworms - they feed on the mucus layer on the surface of the coral. trouble is they will multiply like mad and can stress the corals. A quick freshwater - RO - dip, same temp as your tank water will make them fall off.

Only thing i'm not sure of is if the flatworms on the goni would be the same species as the ones on the leather. sps (acro) flatworms are far more of a pain and do much more damage.

If they are flatworm then i wouldn't panic unless there were thousands of them .

Cut back on the food a little and hold of adding any iodine base products ,or at least cut back on it .This after a week or two should see them clear up some .

Don't do a dip in freshwater but us coral revive or a good coral dip ,freshwater is risky and can cause the loss of the coral

Thanks guys, i'll keep an eye on them. There's not that many so hopefully they'll die out.
Cheers
