Hi there, thought I'd pop this up here so that people can follow along and offer advice, yell at me or just generally laugh at my naivety.

The spec:
Fluval Vicenza 180. It came to me second hand after being used successfully as a marine tank for several years.
It has an external filter a Fluval 205,
3 power heads, 1200l/ph each
Red sea Prizim skimmer Looking at TMC V2 400 Protein Skimmer(overkill?)
RO Unit
Lighting system in debate...replace the original hood...or dangle some halides over the top? choices...

There are a few things that need fixing in the tank some resealing down the side but nothing big really.

I've tested the RO unit and it comes out as 1ppm when i first did it, hopefully this was just some crud in the pipes. Will be using dead sand and Live rock aprox 20kg (when i eventualy get paid...)

I'll post some picks shortly

Thanks crash

Look forward to seeing it up and running. Lighting wise, it depends what you want to keep; full on sps then halides, anything else t5 or dare I say it led's.

cheers, as for the lighting I'm not a fan of LED's personally unless its just to highlight odd bits...Will probably get t5's to be honnest the questions is do i need to make some form of hood or can i just use the standard one...

some hoods will accomodate quite a few light tubes, especially if you use remote ballasts like t5's have. hard to say how many without seeing it really.

Not sure on your tank volume but suspect you would be better off with a Deltec mce 600.
