It's pretty straightforward with good preparation. The biggest risk is causing a 'cycle' and any affects that may have on your livestock. What stock do you have, size of system, photo and what do you want to do?

Removing DSB can be a pain from what I hear from other people. I know they can cause wipeouts. Might be worth sypthoning out a bit at a time to reduce the risk.

i was thinking more along the lines of completely emptying the tank putting coral and fish into temp accomodation and re doing the lot, hence the chance to re do the overflow as i only have one pipe out so i cant adjust the flow through it to reduce the noise without fear of a flood.also if poss i would like 2 outlets in the top corners so i can get rid of the weir box i built origionaly.this would give me the chance to remove the sand in one go.
