Hi all
I need some advice please.
Every fish I set my hopes on turns out to be less than ideal and Im running out of ideas.
The tanks 225Ltr live rock and large skimmer.
I need some suggestions for small (around 3") colourful, peaceful and above all outgoing Fish.
By outgoing I mean something thats going to be out on show most of the time and not hideing in the rock.
I love the royal gramma but I understand they are shy.The orchid dotty back looks nice but Iv heard horror stories.
Any advice would be much apreciated.
Thanks
Si

Wrasse would make a good choice or a butterfly of sorts to be a little different.

Dav Im going to look at a flasher wrasse today having reseached them on your recommendation.
Antias look great but my tank is only 3' X 2' X 20" so Im limited a bit by my tank size.
Chriss Im going to look into the comptability issues of keeping more than one type of wrasse in my tank.
Are there any butterfly's that are small enough for my tank
Thanks
Si
P.S. Iv just researched the bartletts anthias and one is going on my list. How much do they cost ?.

I don't think your tank is too small for a butterfly at all. The bartletts are great anthias, I've got a small group and that is how they are best experienced imo, as a group. That being the case, one or two individuals is probably not going to make the most of them. Bartletts must be one of the hardiest anthias you can get, virtuall bullet proof, but they cost around £30-£40 each.
Take another look at the wrasses, there's a a huge range available, Jason gets some nice rarely-seen ones in on his special fish orders so I would wait for one of them. Most wrasse are pretty compatible with each other and other fish.

as above
jason got some mckosker flasher's in for me recently
but due to problems in my own tank(w/s) i couldn't take them
not sure if he has any left or not
almost all of the flashers are stunning
would be hard to pick between them

Flame Angel? Very nice but expensive.
I wouldn't say that Royal Grammers are that shy. Mine is out most of the time and I've never had one die on me yet!
One thing on the flashers is that they jump. Do you have a top on your system?
