If you don't think you have room for a sump......Pah
I Made my own sump from 6mm float glass and it is VERY VERY small. (no laughing)
The external dimensions are 35cm wide X 30cm deep X 50cm tall
Iv managed to cram in deltec mce600 skimmer,400w heater,1400ltr pump,refugium and a 24w t5 light.
Iv got to get a stronger pump as the skimmer can empty the first chamber faster than the pump can fill it. :)
God I wish I had more room, its a sod to do anything in there

Some time in the future Im going to get a carpenter in to build a frame into the cabinet and remove the center divider.
Then I can stick a bigger sump in.

Excellent, there is nothing wrong with at all. No need for a carpenter, if you can build a sump you can do a bit of bracing.

Well done

Very true Dave
I love to diy, gives me some thing to do and saves money.
As an ex hi-tech planted aquarium owner Im used to diy'ing all my plant foods etc
useing lab grade chemicals rather than buying off the shelf stuff thats 97% water
Now Iv got to diy some nice bright blue led's for some night viewing.
Chriss Im not so good with that sort of thing so I will sleep better at night knowing it was done by an expert
