I have been able to order some pelletised GFO Media via a contact in the water Industry, unfortunately for me it has to be quite a large order :worship:
If anyone has used the Ultiphos P that you used to be able to get from UDA, this is the same stuff.

I have used it in the past to good effect at lowering phosphates.

Depending on the exact weight to volume ratio I think it will end up costing me about £12 per litre.

If anyone is interested in taking some off me let me know.

Dave

1. No I think it is only the aluminium based media that leech back into the water, all ferric based products, rowaphos, phosban etc lock the phosphate in, they just stop working which is why you should always test the effluent coming out of the reactor to see when it needs changing.
2. Fluidising in a reactor is best, although it will work to a lesser degree in a media sock.
3. the recommended amount is 100g to 500 litres.

Hi Dave
You found it then?? :whistling:
I'll try £50 worth to the closest litre.
I assume it needs to be stored in an air tight container once opened?
Hows it being delivered?
If its coming in large air tight tubs ie salt bucket type container, I might be interested in a larger amount.
see you Saturday if your still coming

Here's a pic of the actual stuff, which to me is identical to the Ultiphos P I used to get from Ultimate aquatics
